How is matcha made?
The leaves of our CRAZY GOOD MATCHA come from a Japanese organic garden, where they are hand-picked and processed. During the ripening period, the entire plantation is covered with bamboo mats for at least a month. All this is done so that the plants grow in the shade and retain as much chlorophyll as possible. Their shading is at least 95%. This stage is extremely important and mandatory in the production of high-quality matcha. It is this process that translates into its color, properties and insane, bitter-free taste. Then the leaves are steam-cleaned, dried and ground into a velvety, celadon powder in traditional stone mills.
Is Matcha better than coffee?
CRAZY GOOD MATCHA contains 64.6 mg of caffeine per serving (2 g). For comparison, black coffee contains about 60 mg of caffeine.
However, caffeine is not everything!
Matcha is rich in L-theanine, an amino acid with relaxing, soothing and caffeine-prolonging properties.
Drink as you like!
Also, when it comes to preparing matcha, the comparison with coffee is not accidental. Just as espresso is the base of every coffee, matcha essence can serve as the base of your favourite drink.
Do you prefer to drink it with a bit of water, milk, your favourite plant-based drink, or maybe with tonic or fruit mousse? You have an endless number of options. Play with its taste and possibilities.
