Buckthorn bark is a natural laxative. It is one of the most effective remedies for the treatment of acute (short-term, situational) constipation, increases intestinal peristalsis, and has antispasmodic and antiviral properties. It alleviates symptoms of hemorrhoids and colitis.

It is used in combination therapy to treat gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers. It helps with eczema and scabies. Buckthorn bark is also used to treat acne, relieve inflammation, and restore damaged skin.

Directions for preparation and use:

Pour 1 cup (200 ml) of boiling water over 1 teaspoon of bark, let it steep until cool, and strain. Take 1/2 cup morning and evening.
