Pharmacological properties

Beta-alanine is an amino acid. Prevents a sharp release of histamine, but does not have antihistamine activity due to the absence of H1 receptor blockade.

Beta-alanine has a direct effect on cutaneous peripheral vasodilation, which causes vegetative "hot flashes", a feeling of warmth, fever, headache. At the physiological level, vasomotor "hot flashes" are caused by the activity of thermoregulatory centers in the hypothalamus, leading to peripheral cutaneous vasodilation. This is a consequence of reactions that occur when the balance of cerebral neurotransmitters is disturbed, which occurs after the cessation of hormone secretion by the ovaries.
